Rollie Fingers, beloved closer of Michigan, AND winner of the prestigious Rolaids Relief Award as top reliever, was somehow left off the All-Star team.
Lesser relievers like Hoyt Wilhelm, Billy Wagner, and Mariano Rivera all made the list.
An angry Dave Walter fired off a note to the Commissioner complaining about the omission. Judge Landis promised to review the vote counts with Official League Vote Counter (and umpire) Jim Joyce.
