Guess who's back?

Stan "The Man" is out of the hospital and ready to rejoin the Outlaw Petes. He got a clean bill of health from Dr. James Andrews, who also confirmed through a simple medical practice that Stan is indeed a man.
The Petes managed to maintain a wide lead over the rest of the league during Stan's 15 game absence, going 9-6, but they and all of Outlaw Nation welcome back the Man!

Detroit Shock Mascot 'Zap' writes on open letter to Tim Carr and the Vermont Zaps
Dear Mr. Carr,
I have heard about the recent name change for your club, and I really think I can help your ballclub sell some tickets. See, my name is Zap, and your team's name is Zaps, so, I thought I could, uh, what's that? No what, Sherlock??? OK, OK, how about I get my min-trampoline and bounce from pitcher's mound to home plate like some giant furry Eephus pitch and then...what? Not even Bob Beamon himself nor Chuck Baril on a mini-tramp could pull off such a stunt? Well, I could, uh, hmmm, I guess all I can do is dunk. You wouldn't happen to have a basketball net at home plate, would ya?
Please find enclosed my resume and all my papers and rabies records (I am some sort of wolf/dog/monster thing, after all)
Love,
Zap

Eeyore knows RBIs

After a rough start, Eeyore actually has the Corporate Jets playing, well, just OK baseball.
One amazing thing, though, is that three different players have knocked in 7 runs in one game already for Eeyore and the Jets.
A-Rod, Hank Greenberg (H-Green?), and Jim Thome (J-Toe???) are all tied with this year's single-season record so far of 7 ribbies in a single game.
So, the moral to the story is, amidst all the grumbling and doom and gloom that the dour Eeyore brings, the donkey knows how to get people to knock in runs!
Vermont still looking for bidders

Vermont's Ken Griffey isn't doing much to help up the bidding on eBay! Junior, over the last 10 games, is hitting 2 for 36, an .056 average.

In other news, Judge Landis is now very, very happy because the league is caught up and the 'Complete Daily Reporter' (look on the left side of the screen, below the current stats and yearbooks) now works as it should . As the Judge put it, "it's a marvel of Southern ingenuity, a beacon of information in a sea of unwashed data points, a cudgel to batter the unwitting bystander with in order to make sense of this here world, a window to the soul of this here game of Base (pause) Ball....". The Judge continued on like this for several hours, until his nurse came by with a pitcher of sweet tea and a pecan cookie. He is now having a nap-nap.
More games to come later today!

Gopher the Gold.
Gopher the Gold is a 5k/10k race hosted by Hansons running Shop at Riverbends Park, in Shelby Township. I ran in the 5k this morning in my age group. (13-19, me being 14... My dad told me that once I become his age, being the youngest in your age group actually is beneficial. ha-ha.) Well, the race was rainy, and a hilly course, but in the end, none of that was used as excuse (no, not even being the youngest in my age group) because I came in with a time of 20:50. I think thats my fastest time yet for a 5k... It was about the same pace as my 10k time. So I geuss I could have gone a bit faster. I came in 5th for my age. Woo!
