Lloyd Waner had 2 base hits and Randy Johnson reeled off a total of 11
strikeouts at the ballpark as the E Street Outlaw Petes beat the New Zealand
Kiwis in 10 innings by the count of 5 to 4.
The score was tied at 3 after nine. E Street came out on top in the 10th
inning. George Davis opened up the inning nicely when he lined a single.
Davis got a great jump and stole second easily. Phil Rizzuto then laced a
base-knock. Waner was up next and he hit a single. Nap Lajoie stepped into
the box and lashed a single. Billy Hamilton added to the outburst and banged
out a single. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th
inning.
The victory went to Joe McGinnity(1-1) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. Goose Gossage(1-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 3 runs
in 1 inning and saw his ERA jump from 5.40 to 7.71.

Third baseman Mike Schmidt slammed 2 homeruns and Vic Willis completed the
game without help from the bullpen at Chuck Norris Stadium as the Wyoming
Triops beat the Walkerville Texas Rangers in 10 innings 6 to 5.
The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings. Wyoming won the game in
the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Ed Delahanty doubled. After
another out, Roy Campanella stepped up to the plate and he slapped a one-base
hit. Schmidt then smacked a single. A wild and woolly affair, this game saw
the lead change 6 times.
Willis(4-3) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 5 runs. The loss was
charged to Tim Keefe(1-2). He served up 3 gopher balls in 9 and 2/3 innings.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Jake the Drifter said after the game. 'Willis did not have
command of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew
how to pitch!'

Left fielder Carl Yastrzemski touched them all and had 2 RBI as the Mumbai
Slumdogz beat the Verona Ridge Roadrunners in 10 innings by a score of 7 to
6.
Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Mumbai won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning. Home Run Baker reached on an error.
Elmer Flick came to the plate and delivered a single. Frankie Frisch then
stroked a one-base hit making Mumbai the victors to the delight of the home
town faithful. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5
times.
Robin Roberts(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3
innings. John Franco(3-2) ended up with the loss in relief. He gave up 2
runs and 4 hits in 1 inning.

Bob Feller was on top of his game, blanking General Motors on just 2 hits at
the ballpark where the Bernstein Bears beat the General Motors Corporate Jets
by the score of 9 to 0.
Frank Robinson was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He tripled plating a run in
the 1st inning, smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 2nd of the season)
in the 6th inning and doubled resulting in a run in the 8th inning.
Bernstein managed 14 hits in their victory.
Feller(2-2) was credited with the shutout. Chief Bender(1-3) was hit with the
loss. He allowed 10 hits and no walks in 1 inning.
