Eddie Plank completed the game without help from the bullpen as the New
Zealand Kiwis defeated the E Street Outlaw Petes 7 to 4 at the
ballpark.
Plank(3-1) pitched well for New Zealand in their victory. He allowed 10 hits
and 4 walks in 9 innings. Both teams totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.
The losing pitcher was Tom Seaver(2-3). He allowed 7 runs and 10 hits in 9
innings.

Mike Schmidt had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Tommy John allowed Jake the Drifter
to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Chuck Norris Stadium where
the Wyoming Triops beat the Walkerville Texas Rangers in 10 innings by the
score of 8 to 5.
The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings. Wyoming won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning. Hack Wilson led off and keyed the rally
when he lashed a single. Joe Medwick stepped into the batter's box and he
banged out a single. Charlie Gehringer then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Ed
Delahanty stepped in and he was walked intentionally to load the bases.
Hughie Jennings dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Schmidt
kept the inning going and lined a base-hit. Schmidt took second on the
throw. Willie Mays followed and he was walked intentionally to load the
bases. Mark McGwire then drew a walk. Walkerville could do no damage in the
bottom of the 10th.
John(2-0) allowed 5 runs on the game. John Clarkson(0-1) was the loser in
relief. With this win, Wyoming has a 13-10 record. They have been 4-6
lately. With the loss Walkerville now has a record of 7-3.

Bill Terry had 3 base hits as the Verona Ridge Roadrunners defeated the Mumbai
Slumdogz in 12 innings by a score of 5 to 4 at Tech Support Stadium.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. Finally, Verona Ridge pulled the game out
in the 12th inning. Terry started the inning off right when he lined a
single. Honus Wagner came next and he doubled. After an out was recorded,
Ralph Kiner stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Jimmie Foxx followed
and he drew a walk to load the bases. Barry Bonds came to the plate and
stroked a base-hit. Verona Ridge totaled 8 hits on the afternoon.
The winning pitcher was Lefty Gomez(2-0) who allowed 2 runs in 11 innings.
Gomez was helped out by John Franco who recorded his 3rd save. Carl
Hubbell(0-1) was given the loss in relief.

Steve Carlton reeled off a total of 13 strikeouts as the Bernstein Bears beat
the General Motors Corporate Jets by a score of 3 to 2.
Carlton(1-1) delivered a fine performance for Bernstein. He surrendered 7
hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. General Motors was out-hit by Bernstein, 11
hits to 7.
Dennis Eckersley was credited with his 2nd save. Rube Waddell(1-2) was tagged
with the loss. Carlton, when asked about his 13 strikeout performance noted,
'The important thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does
it do our team? But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
