Kirby Puckett jacked one out of the ballyard at Sultans Stadium where the
Rusty City Rusty Geezers beat the Dubai Sultans of Swat in 12 innings by the
score of 6 to 5.
The score was tied at 3 after nine. Rusty City came out on top in the 12th
inning. After an out was recorded, Puckett ripped a solo home run (his 15th
of the season). Rusty City won despite being out-hit by Dubai 13 hits to 9.
Jack Chesbro(3-13) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Waite Hoyt(4-5) was the losing pitcher in relief. He allowed 2 hits
and no walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.

Willie McCovey had 2 base hits and 4 RBI as the Newbieville Sluggers outscored
the Phnom Penh Phenomenons in 11 innings 7 to 2.
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Finally, Newbieville pulled
the game out in the 11th inning. The key at-bat was by Jim Bottomley who
silenced Killing Field as he clubbed a three-run home run (his 18th of the
season). Both teams totaled 6 hits on the afternoon.
John Clarkson(10-14) went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Joe McGinnity(16-11) ended up with the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 3
hits in 10 innings.

Dazzy Vance pitched 9 strong innings at Roadrunner Park as the Kansas Tornados
beat the Verona Ridge Roadrunners 3 to 1.
Kansas had the game winning rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs using 2 hits.
Hack Wilson got things going when he doubled. Al Simmons came next and he
tripled driving in a run. Mel Ott then hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final
run of the inning. Verona Ridge was retired without difficulty in the bottom
of the 9th.
The victory went to Vance(14-8) who went the distance allowing 1 run. The
losing pitcher was Nolan Ryan(14-7). He allowed 3 runs and 8 hits in 9
innings.

Gamblers by the score of 5 to 3 at Point Shaver Stadium.
Candy Cummings(3-4) earned his pay with a solid performance for RoadOutOfTown.
He was reached for 7 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. RoadOutOfTown managed 9
hits in their victory.
Trevor Hoffman earned his 8th save. Randy Johnson(9-12) was given the loss.
He surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Hobo-Dome.
Catfish Hunter(12-17) was solid if not spectacular. He allowed 8 hits and 4
walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Hoboken totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.
Hunter got help from Carl Hubbell who was credited with his 5th save. Cy
Young(14-15) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 8 runs
in 7 and 2/3 innings.
